Tamarind petals

I love these petals, strewn all over the street after the rain. It tipped it down all day, and I didn’t even think of going to the market until it was too late. There may not even have been one today as it's a holiday (Saint Sebastian, patron saint of Rio). So no gym either. Luckily, it’s not a holiday in São Paulo, so I was quite pleased when one of my clients there sent me a translation.

A friend came round in the evening to discuss rentals during the Olympics. Airbnb is the official provider, but there are so many properties on offer that it’s difficult to get visibility – and hard for visitors to know what and where to choose. I pulled some pork and prunes out of the freezer, she brought some wine and we had a jolly evening – we even got round to discussing rentals, and she had a look at our attic. Far more rustic than her beautiful penthouse in Leblon, but cosy and cheerful and close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Quiet too, unusual in Copacabana.
