Lots of conversation for me today - this morning I went to the first of a dozen sessions for my confirmation preparation course, along with the two other ladies who will be confirmed on the same day as me in June, plus curate Liz who is leading the course.  I think we're going to have some really interesting discussions over the next few months.

This afternoon, I took Mum to a local hotel for our Monday hot chocolate treat (pictured).  It's one of our favourite places to spend a relaxing hour or so.  The regular waiter there served coffee to Mum and Dad for several years, and continues to give us extra chocolates with our hot drinks.  He told us today that he's now graduated with a degree in engineering and plans to go to Sandhurst to train as an officer in the Army, possibly as soon as May this year.  We didn't see that coming!  We'll miss him, but are sure he'll do well in his new career.


PS:  I'm guessing the quote from Mel Gibson is quite old now, as he's currently dating a 24 year-old who is thirty-six years his junior.....
