Faith, Hope and Love

Mum told me today that she's thinking of taking up her sidesman duties at St Luke's church again.  It would be hard for her, as she and Dad used to be sidesmen together and she would now have to do it alongside someone else, but I'd be so pleased for her if she did resume the role and go back on the rota.  I've been attending the 9.30 a.m. communion service with Mum each Sunday since Dad passed away, and the church family at St Luke's has been so kind and supportive, not only to Mum but to me as well.  I find it comforting to sit in Dad's place in the fourth pew back beside Mum.  I'm also hoping that Mum might agree to hosting the Friday home group for Bible studies again.  It would be lovely to think of the house being regularly filled with her friends once more, as it's also a social occasion.

The original stained glass window at the rear of St Luke's church was destroyed in a bombing raid in October 1942, and it was replaced with this one in 1951.
