Ceard!
Today I spent most of the day going through a huge suitcase of stuff that was on the loft. Much of it was bits of jewellery that belonged to my late mother. There were some amazing pieces but this one jumped out simply because it said Ceard on the box & went on to explain it was made in Inveraray and indeed on closer inspection, it is Inveraray Castle! The company used the name Ceard as that was the old Gaelic name for tinker which indeed it is! and they thought it was a good name as many of the old ceaird were tinsmiths etc. Theres another stunning piece of an owl in flight made of silver by a jeweller I think called Jaonne Barnes from the Borders. Anyways as I rarely wear fancy stuff, I have split some off and will take to the girls and they can take their pick. The real old sentimental stuff stays! I also found an envelope with two fifty pound notes in it! That's still after six almost seven years and I find a surprise of some sorts. Maybe best biggified
It's solid silver and would probably wound someone and I won't be wearing it anytime soon, I'm from MacDonald stock! Enough said!
