Two soups sir?
Two soups, the classic scene from Acorn Antiques inspired this shot although I was not carrying soups to the table and slopping the contents everywhere.
Bottom right is bacon, leek and rosemary with pasta and at the top is leek and potato. We'd been to the allotment to survey what needs to be done but as it was raining we were unable to do anything apart from harvest most of the (quite small leeks). The bread was freshly made (in the machine) a mixture of wholemeal flour, wheatgerm, wholegrain spelt and assorted seeds and nuts. Went well with the leek and bacon soup. The other soup is in the freezer.
The morning saw me chairing a teleconference with 10 participants from around the country. Very interesting to do as you don't know what the body language or indeed what people are doing at the other end of the line.
In the afternoon we went to buy our seed potatoes. This time we bought Casablanca, which were very successful last year and Harmony which we've not tried before. The other varieties from last year, Cara and Charlotte, were very poor so we gave them the miss.Who's to say that Casablanca will perform this year?
