La Pavoni è sede
It was exiting this morning. I awoke to find the coaching article I’d written for TrainingPeaks had been posted. If was nice to get so many ‘likes’ and ‘retweets’ worldwide!
Less good was Rosemary not getting a ‘merit’ place for the World Swim-Run Champs: Otillo. She was really disappointed but I’m confident that her and her race partner Izzy will qualify.
The afternoon was fun as I did a few Skype interviews for work which will form part of my lectures to the students. I love speaking with and learning from others. It’s much better than reading stuff. I’m finding the new job exciting and challenging in equal measure and feel inspired by the people I spoke to today.
I had been working from home as I was waiting on my coffee machine to be delivered. It reached 3pm and I phoned the company that had been servicing it. They checked and the couriers had taken it back to the depot as they couldn’t find the door! Thanks Parcelforce…….. I know plenty of people that can find a tiny checkpoint in the middle of a wilderness with only a map and compass. Your idiot driver couldn’t find a bloody flat in a capital city. £4 bus ticket and a 2 roundtrip on the bus to get the thing.
I came home via Artisan Roast as I needed good coffee for my beautiful La Pavoni. I ripped the box open when I got home, filled the boiler and got moving. The first shot was too thin and lacked crema, the 2nd was bitter. I up-dosed the coffee a little, got the grind a little finer and bingo! A rich espresso, with a good tiger crema and perfect balance. It was delicious. I am happy.
