Rain at Wimbledon
This morning in Northampton we watched the Wimbledon finals match on TV between Andy Murry and Roger Federer. It began in sunshine, but after two sets (1-1) a downpour began. These chaps dashed out to pull the cover across the court (the 100 mph display refers of course not to their speed but to that of the last serve).
The roof over the court was closed, and Federer won the next two sets to take the match (his 7th title and 17th major overall). All of Britain was disappointed by Murray's loss (he's from Scotland, for those unaware), but he was exceedingly gracious and moving in his brief, tearful remarks just afterwards. An historic occasion.
