Conyngham Hall
Conyngham Hall is on the edge of Knaresborough. It has a rich history and is a splendid building now in the hands of Harrogate Borough Council who have run a business and conference centre there since 1995.
It was built towards the end of the eighteenth century, and was originally named Coghill Hall. During the second world war it became an annexe to Harrogate District Hospital and was used as a temporary hospital for injured soldiers.
In more recent times the hall has been occupied by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, and the grounds housed the now defunct Knaresborough zoo.
Unfortunately it is often difficult to photograph without there being cars in front spoiling the image, and today was no exception. I took the photograph very close to ground level, thereby hiding as much as possible of the vehicles behind the hedge. Then a little clever use of photoshop and hey presto - no cars!
The original shot is in the extras.
