Mother's Pride
We met this little boy and his mother at a fishing village we visited today. We've got the red devil chariot back for a couple of days.
One of my extras is a fisherman in his long tailed boat, which needed to be baled out following a tropical storm last night.
The other is a mangle which is used in the production of rubber. The rubber from the trees is separated into the hard part, and liquid, which is discarded.
The hard rubber is then passed through the mangle several times like lasagne, and hung to dry. Sadly this industry is dying out here because there is little reward for a very labour intensive process. These mangles can therefore be found all over the place, in overgrown rubber plantations that are now going back into forest.
Sorry for recent lack of comments but wifi is very intermittent here. It's taken me about a dozen attempts to put this blip up, and I've finally managed at 6am when no one else is on the internet and Nikonabike has gone to photograph the sunrise.
