Exploring Ho Chi Min City

We have arrived in Vietnam at their most festive time of year - Tet holiday aka New Year! It's celebrated over one week from Feb 7-13 and during this time the whole country is on the move. All the locals travel home to their villages to celebrate, making it difficult and expensive for tourists to travel at the same time. So we spent the morning in a travel agent booking in all of our 5 buses and hostels we will be taking over the next month to head north to Hanoi (A very strange and frustrating thing for us as we have spent the last 10 months living day by day with no plans, now we have a whole 30 days locked in!)

After this was done we walked all over the city and visited the old post office building which was designed by the same guy who built the eiffel tower. I think his name was Pierre or Gus or something. After some beers to cool down at lunch, we spent the afternoon at the war museum. It was a fantastic museum and we learnt a lot we didn't know. Very moving and sad, but full of propaganda. A must do if you are here!
