Raptor Saturday

I thought after we (mostly I this weekend) cleaned the house we deserved a treat, so we went for a ride to look for Snowy owls. The closest one spotted in NY so far has been the upper end of Seneca Lake which was a little too far to go at 2PM so we weren't expecting much. We did get a pleasant suprise which was first a redtail that  didn't fly off as soon as we stopped the car. The blip is the redtail when it did take off and the extra is him sitting in the tree. I think it is a him as it was not a huge bird and redtails are dimorphic with the female being the larger . The pleasant surprise was the two Northern harriers we saw though they only made the extras as I had to blow them way up given the distance they were at. But it was fun watching them hovering over the field.
