Pizza Farms
It's weird on Blip. When I use a photograph that I like, it tends to get less 'hits' than those that I use that I think others will like. Well.....today I'm in the camp of doing what I like. Light, textures and shades.
Rosemary was going out running with Izzy today and it was all snowy. I had the choice of lying in bed or going for a walk when they were ambulating more rapidly than I could. My toe is on the mend and I may chance a run in the next few weeks. My injury occurred on my birthday in August so it's been a long haul of missing doing something I love.
We jumped on a 21 bus to Drumbrae. It's an interesting bus as it travels through a few of the less sulubrious housing estates of Edinburgh. Being a native of Stoneybank I'm nae posh lad but Muirhouse and Pilton are still a bit 'Transporting'.
I'll never forget a rugby game at Craigroyston High School in this areas in my youth. We had to do a pitch scan for sharp objects before we played, won the game handsomely and then carnage broke out. If my memory serves me correctly, Falkie our winger had scored multiple tries (he always did unless we were playing a big posh school) so one of the opposition decided to punch him leaving the changing rooms. Bad move! Fists flew all round.
Sid, the loose head prop and me, the tight head prop, miraculously were 1st back on the bus having out-sprinted all the backs. I seem to recall a police car coming to our assistance but it was over 30 years ago so my memory is hazy.
Anyway, Izzy picked us up from a a lay-by at Drumbrae and we headed out to Craig's Farm where we parked up. They tootled off for their run and I slithered up the road with camera in hand. A 'young lady' approached me way too quickly in a car and with the melting snow, she showered my legs in freezing water! A scheemie fi Muirhoose would have been shocked at the barrage of potty mouthed abuse that she got.
Anyway, I found a nice woodland and pottered about there, seeing a deer and a robin too. I was enjoying the peace with my camera. Timing was spot on as I met Izzy and Rosemary on my way back to the farm. They beat me back but by the time they got changed everything was kinda equalised. We had lunch there, I got some messages from the farm shop and then we headed home.
Rosemary and i both fell asleep on the sofa and awoke just in time to head up to the triathlon club AGM and then it was off to meet friends for dinner in an Italian in Dalry.
