A morning on the Pier
Undeterred by the overcast, drizzly day, we took our friends to Cromer and Sheringham today.
The Pier was blissfully quiet and we spent some time watching a group of very bold turnstones fighting over some bread that had been left out, they were obviously used to people as we managed to get quite close.
Then we had a most welcome coffee and an Eccles cake in the Pier theatre café, and were surprised by a visit by a barn owl (Charlie the owl was there to publicise the owl and bird charity that his handler was collecting donations for). He was beautiful and some of us took turns holding him. He weighed hardly anything, and his were allowed to stroke his chest, which was so soft (the owl...not his handler!). See extra.
I'm very fond of pier architecture so have chosen a shot of the attractive benches to be found there.
