Venice? Manchester?....

I know that there isn't any water along Lloyd Street in Manchetser but with these two bridges linking the old Town Hall, on the left, with the 1930s extension on the right, I think it has the look of Venice. Two Bridge(s) of Sighs.

The second picture is of the Memorail Hall nearby on Albert Square. It's design was inspired the Ca' d'Oro, the House of Gold, a palace on the Grand Canal in that most famous of Italian cities.
