Stairway to heaven

Today I really appreciated that I am retired. After a leisurely breakfast the Ards Man and I went our different ways; the AM off on his bicycle and me off on a 'photography walk'.

The sun was shining and it wasn't too cold and it seemed like I had Crawfordsburn Country Park all to myself! Glorious. I strolled along the river, almost having to pinch myself that I wasn't in school! There was lots of rotting going on in the various woodpiles; I particularly liked this little ladder of bracket fungi. My extra shot today is of one of the woodpiles.

It was so peaceful and I felt for a while that I didn't have a care in the world - it was truly lovely. I am very aware of my good fortune.
