Hameediyah Nasi Kandar

Drove along the beach to breakfast with a cousin and her family who lives here. The food was good, and set in a lovely establishment, as seen from the inside: looked like an overgrown bush / wood from the outside, lovely garden on the inside. Lots of food and lots of chatter.

The afternoon was spent atop Penang Hill. I'd have liked to have spent more time there, visiting the botanical park and forest, but my hurting ankle and the company I was with had other plans. Next time. That said, the drive to the hill from breakfast was the highlight of the afternoon: narrow, winding road next to a ravine, precariously sharp blind turns for about 10 minutes. Exciting stuff! No F1 delusions, just the joy of driving.

Ended the day with a heavy meal at this Nasi Kandar establishment, Hameediyah. Nasi is rice, I've yet to figure out what Kandar means (what language it is even, guessing tamil). It's basically rice with a mixture of all available curry gravies and other dishes. They ran out on most, so I chose an onion chicken dish with the rice. This onion chicken dish was yummy, seriously yummy. Whoever's reading this and is planning to go to Penang, I recommend you getting this. On second thought, drop me a message and we'll go together!
