Sail away ....

A windy morning walk without sun but definitely lighter.

At the pond feeding station the swan was waiting, having already scared away a small group of Canadian Geese.
*He doesn't seem to mind the ducks but definitely has a down on the geese and to think barely a year ago we were worried about his welfare having arrived on his own still sporting his youthful brown feathers.

Having finished the swan food he did an about turn and sailed straight toward the hovering geese to see them off in case they didn't get the message the first time!
I was impressed with his huge wake in this shot and raised wings. He's certainly a very powerful mover and very capable of taking care of himself.

* We are assuming it is a male because of his power and aggressiveness.
