Green Bee-eater(Merops orientalis)

What a gorgeous sight, a couple of Green Bee-eaters having a rest after doing some nest building. I watched them from a long way off so as not to disturb them, but one Bee-eater was chiselling away at the sand bank and the other was on guard, they do nest in sand banks, after they have formed a tunnel so where they were working was a very safe place for a family of Bee-eaters. Really beautiful birds and such a treat to see on a sunny but very windy morning.
