Nesting Up Helly Aa

It's been a day of showers but they haven't been too heavy but fairly dull and overcast.  It cleared up this evening.

I had a busy morning in the museum office working with updates to the photo archive.  It was light showers at lunchtime and managed to get out for a fair walk around Lerwick.  After lunch, and I was on the desk for the afternoon.  It's been a steady afternoon with visitors.  After tea, I met my friend Shannon and we headed up the Nesting Up Helly Aa.  Think it's going to be a quiet night by the fire.

It turned into a fine night for the Nesting Up Helly Aa.  This is the third one of the season and another seven to go.  There has been a good turn out of guizers and also a good crowd out to watch the procession too.  This is Jarl Mark Gifford making his way from the South Nesting hall and heading down to the waterfront to burn the galley.
