Whitby Jet

These old Whitby Jet beads are quite amazing to look at. A couple are chipped and damaged but the rest look decent.

They were saved onto some thread and lay in the bottom of a button box for decades. Tonight I restrung them on top grade, thick silk thread. I knotted between each one to protect them from further damage.

I'm quite pleased with my first attempt at this job. I got the hang of it in the end and was surprised just how much thread it used up!

When I restring them in the future I think they'll look even better but for now I am happy with my efforts!
