Architects and Room
Started the morning on a building site in Knutford. For the past week we've been interviewing architects for The Big Refurb at home. My favourite one invited us to see his existing project. When we turned up his Dad was there (good sign when someone wants to show their Dad something), along with a contractor and the current clients.
The house we saw was amazing. A real Grand Designs style project. Squidge was on her very best behaviour and I was so proud of her. I told her to hold my hand tightly as we were on a building site and it was full of hazards. She couldn't have been better behaved.
Drove back for a family lunch followed by the rest of Cinderella with chocolates and cuppas in front of the fire. Squidge had a frothy milk and made grown up slurping noises and "ahhhh" sounds which made us chuckle.
She had a play date/sleepover at a neighbour's house this afternoon. First time we've ever left her with another Mum and child. So kind of our neighbour too.
We took the opportunity to head to the cinema. Watched Room as I'd read the book many years ago BEFORE I had children!! Oh my God how harrowing!! I actually wanted to leave a quarter of the way through because I couldn't bear it. It got better. Actually did me a lot of good in the end as it made me re-evaluate a few things regarding my work/Mother balance. She won't be this size forever. I have a feeling I'm missing the best bits.
