CBSO

Katie slept reasonably well last night though she woke in tears because she couldn't find monkey- she'd left him at home, woke hunting for him, remembered and was sad. She did settle back to sleep. We watched monsters university as she ate breakfast and waited for Sarah to surface.

We had a steady but lovely morning. She played in the Victoria Square and had a look in the cathedral. We went to the art gallery & museum, which she really enjoyed. We kept trying to leave and she would find something else she wanted to look at. Nicely family friendly. The "mini museum" for kids is adorable. She was very excited when it was time to go for lunch (pretty tasty!) then go find A.

This afternoons activity was the Coty of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra family film favourites concert, so we were having a coffee with her piano teachers daughter who is second chair violin for them. Katie went a little bit hyper nuts for a while. When A had to go get ready we went to do the pre-show craft and watch the extra music that was happening around the foyer.

Katie had an amazing time at the concert. She loved the singalong sound of music section- how many of her song and dance competition group will have rehearsed their song to love accompaniment by the CBSO?! They did a fantastic Disney medley with featured soloists- she cheered loudly for the clarinetist. She absolutely loved the Stars Wars theme performance. It was a brilliant concert. We popped to see A during the interval and get a quick treat icecream. It was a fantastic concert. We were a row from the front but that was empty and at one point Katie and the presenter were dancing "with" each other- her started copying her and then vice versa, it was fab. Such a good afternoon- thank you Sarah for the wonderful Christmas present!!

We are on a train home now, having taken a trip to see some royal ballet costumes that are on display in the mailbox and get some tea from Grand Central. She's reading but will be asleep very soon!!

The extra shot is her waving to A as she came back on after the interval
