The Bull Ring

Busy day... The girl woke up and had a long play before we walked to the train. Today she moved up, with her friends, to the next class at ballet- which starts two hours later. Woohoo!! But before class this week she had duet practise. It was the first time where she was a nightmare for me. She was very excited about the new class, very tired and also very excited as we were due to go swag after. There were useful points to it. And irritatingly her duet partner was on cooperative good form so I really couldn't just abandon the practise as a Lost cause.

Anyway, they went down into class and from there on in she had an incredible time. Their teachers were thrilled with how hard they worked. The class had a fabulous time. They are so ready for this jump and their teachers are well up for taking them and pushing them. The kids were buzzing when they ran from the big studio to go upstairs to do their first modern lesson together. Katie came out absolutely bouncing. She was beginning to get a bit fed up in the old class and was pleased she was chosen to lead several bits of the class.

After class we got a lift to the station where we caught our first train to Doncaster. A costa pit stop between trains before our second train to Birmingham. Katie slept most of it, thankfully. She just needed that catch up.

We then had a wonderful afternoon/early evening. We met our friend Sarah and Katie decided to join in an army logistics demonstration where she had to manoeuvre herself across a river in a certain manner. She was shy at first but then got right into it. We then met our friend Lottie. Katie saw and wanted to go in to cath kidston. We headed to john Lewis for afternoon tea and a play in the toy department. We then played on a fabulous computer that had a touch screen panel which was running piano software. We then wandered to the bull ring and Katie blew me away. She sat at their beautiful white grand Yamaha and played several pieces very confidently, grinning despite the audience of Japanese people videoing her and tough looking kids who were floored by her! She was awesome!!!

We then came to Sarah's for tea, an full box of strawberries (all for Katie!) and some clarinet, dancing and fun. We are staying overnight and having a fabulous time! Katie is snuggled in bed with Simba and a unicorn. Mummy and sarah have minstrels and buffy!
