The Money tree, Fairy Glen

A lovely sunrise followed by a lovely day with just a few showers and plenty of sunshine.
After all the rain we wanted to see the top waterfall in the Fairy Glen to see if there was a lot of water tumbling over. We could hear the water before we saw the falls and were not disappointed. The water covered the whole of the falls much more water than when we went in November.
The blip photo shows part of the money tree/log. Many coins have been hammered in over the years and a handy stone has been left on the top as it's not as easy as it sounds as the wood is quite hard. People have started to use other logs that are laying around. The coins are left as a gift to the Fairies and It is thought that it will bring good luck and keep the water clear.
However it seems that the log is a fairly recent addition as several people mentioned it was nt there when they were children. It was definitely there 10 years ago as it was one of the first places we visited when coming to Scotland and the coins looked old then. Most of the coins look like 2p,1p or 5p. I should have looked more closely to see if I could see any predecimal coins.
Managed to do a lot of gardening in the afternoon, looks so much better and was pleased to see plenty of bulbs peeping through and one miniature daff almost out.
