The Wright rain
Hard to choose a blip for today as I had a few that I liked. We went to The Storehouse for breakfast which was very nice and filling and then started to drive back. The sun was just hitting the snow on the top of the Mountains. Yep, Sun although it kept disappearing.
I remembered We had seen a sign to St Martins Mill an also new there was a well nearby so, seeing as it was dry we parked by the little graveyard and walked along the track. It was badly flooded and we had to avoid big puddles. A lovely quiet walk which we will return to in the Summer. Field fares were in the tops of the trees and , what I think, was a sparrowhawk flew off as we approached. There were three impressive trees on the skyline.
We came across some old farm buildings and a wonderful farm house. The buildings were still in use although some did looked derelict. This part was filled with bits of machinery. The words 'Wright Rain' made me smile , is there such a thing ? Apparently Wright Rain make irrigation equipment. Some info here http://www.wrightrain.com/
We could see the sign for the mill and the clouds were turning black, Mike had a quick look down the hill but could nt see anything but he was joined by a very happy little dog who ran up to him and then to me before running very fast back down the hill.
We found out that the mill was abit further on when we looked at the map when we got home. The well was nt obvious either and I had forgotten to look for it.
Back to the car just in time as it poured for a good few hours after.
