Morecambe

Got up and out in a pretty leisurely fashion today.  Drove to Lancaster first, parked up and had some lunch and a little wander around - and then drove on to Morecambe.  I'd never been there before - and I really liked it.  We had quite a long - and incredibly breezy walk along the boardwalk and out onto the stone jetty.  Saw the beautiful renovated Midland Hotel, and Eric Morecambe's statue, too - check!  Sat back in the car for a little while recovering from the wind, then we drove back to Lancaster again.  Went and killed a bit of time in a cafe, and then met up with my friend Kirstie and her boyfriend Paul, for a lovely dinner at Merchants.  I've only seen Kirstie three times since we left University 16 years ago, and we've managed two of those meetings within the past 6 months - so things are looking up!  It was so good to catch up with her again, and to meet her fella, too.  Fun evening - followed by a rather windy and rainy drive back in the dark to Keswick.
