Aberaeron Harbour

Today's the day ....................... to wreak havoc

This was the view out of one of our windows this morning just before nine oclock.

It was high tide.  Storm Imogen was blowing a gale - and whipping up the sea into a frenzy of white foam.  As promised, the waves crashed into the harbour walls and sent up showers of spray.  Any attempt to go anywhere near would have resulted in a serious soaking!

The weather conditions continued to have an effect on our travel plans throughout the day.  We arrived at Aberystwyth Station to find that there was no rail service between there and Machynlleth because the line was flooded.  So that meant getting a bus - and that was just the start of our problems.  We eventually arrived home to Kendal some four hours later than we should have if all had gone to plan.

I'm sure that Imogen will have given many people cause to remember her today .........................
