Today's the day ...................... to seek the sun

We woke up to thick freezing fog in Kendal today.

Now, it's quite often the case that if you get out of the valley that the town is situated in, you can find quite different weather.  So we decided to head south westwards towards Morecambe Bay.  There's also another reason for going that way on a Sunday - we've found a really nice place to treat yourself to a slap-up Sunday lunch.

Lunch was great - and we did find some slightly better weather.  We walked along the embankment towards Knott End and saw lots of wading birds.  Then from out of nowhere came this horse and rider.

They had the vast expanse of the Bay to themselves - and   they didn't seem to be bothered in the slightest about what the weather was doing ...........................
