Big Byker sky

Met up with a colleague at the station and went down to Gateshead in the afternoon. We were putting on a staff development session in the evening and were slightly alarmed to hear that our main presenter (who was travelling up from Bristol) was stuck at York, since Durham station had been closed due to a major gas leak! She eventually arrived in time for the event, having been sent the scenic route via Sunderland with a diesel locomotive!

It all seemed to go quite well - it's always good to get together with colleagues we see all too infrequently. After doing a bit of clearing up we repaired to the nearby hotel for a nightcap and a good sleep.
