Dress rehearsal

Two days and counting until the start of the festival and it's "all encompassing" nature has well and truly struck.  Dress rehearsals today for the juniors. Today was a big day - the first two festivals Katie did, she totally hated dress rehearsals in front of the mummies. The first time she'd only do it if she faced away from the mummies and they didn't clap. The second time she point blank refused, would only do it just me, her and the principal. The third one, the dress was a small group situation and worked well. Today it was back to the normal format of big studio full of girls and their mums, each taking turn for coaching/dress. Katie absolutely rocked her ballet straight away, she was beautiful and her principal was thrilled. She didn't hesitate and danced it beautifully. Her song and dance took a first try as a warm up then the second time she knocked it out the park. Because I'd taken the duet costumes to be approved/tried on, the principal suggested that they run it as an extra dress (duets dress is Saturday). They were FANTASTIC! I was so proud of them. Two weeks to the day since the dance was even created and today they did it beautifully and really confidently. Its such a delight to see how they're growing, as little people and as dancers. She's come on so much in her dance since October and so much in her confidence. Very chuffed with these little dancers. 

Final solo practises tomorrow. Duet dress rehearsal Saturday. First solo Saturday afternoon, second on Sunday followed by final rehearsal for the duet, which comes at 9am Monday morning!! It's go-go-go!
