Yankee Candle Village
What a wonderful day! Here is my sister at our visit to the Yankee Candle Village in Deerfield is Massachussets! We made the hour long journey up here late morning.
There are so many wee nooks and crannies to walk round, shop in and sniff and smell. Mmmmm! There were candles of every scent imaginable in all sizes and you could even create your own scent in an empty jar! There were kids waxing their hands to make permanent ornaments and it was Christmas (with snow) in three of the large rooms!
It was amazing.
BUT...
The incredible bit was that today I met a friend that I had met in the Sudan after 23 years!! It was so easy to spot her and the years just slipped away. I used to teach her daughter when I had a spell teaching in the American School, and she was also a teacher and taught in the room beside me. Memories were flying around, we laughed and cried, but we both know that we will never lose touch again. The most incredible thing was that we had not been in touch for 8 years and I found her by "find a friend" on Facebook! The wonders of the small world!!
I really got my scrapbook going today, spending a few hours this early morning on it before the excitement of the rest of the day! The early morning is such a treat - hummingbirds, red cardinals, a blue jay (I think) and it is a lovely temperature!
The kids all went to the movies this late afternoon and then onto a diner - Susan is having a ball and I wonder how she will settle back at home after all this!!
