Seeing Stars
Lent is a tree without blossom, without leaf...
Leaving no hiding-place, only an emptiness
Between black branches, a most precious space
Before the leaf, before the time of flowers;
Lest we should see only the leaf, the flower,
Lest we should miss the stars.
- Jean M Watt
Poem today helped me see that, though not exactly my choice, need to embrace the emptiness (look at all the space in this photo of M studying for sermon next Sunday) of this stage, and see the stars through it...
As in Jan Har's comments, my toilet list:
- M enjoying table tennis in market
- finding out name of guy in Mal-me-Quer: Quim
- Luis paying for our coffees there
- eating one of Bia's pizzas for dinner
- being invited to learn how to make filhós, a cinnamonny pastry
- giving folk a lift to Cabeção - we are useful!
- being asked to lead the study there - totally love inspiring folk
