And They're Off....well, sort of

I walked my sweetie down to the aptly named UP Express train to the airport (Union station, Pearson airport). He left at 3:00 from downtown Toronto for a 6:30 flight to Heathrow then to Manchester arriving at 10:00 a.m. All went smoothly, I wanted to spend a bit more time with him and to make sure he headed out on the right direction. Unfortunately it wasn't smooth for our eldest, he arrived at the Vancouver, Canada airport at 11:00 a.m. for his short flight to Calgary and then connection to Amsterdam on to Manchester. It seems Calgary had too much fog & 3 flights were delayed by 2.5 hrs each which left 5 passengers missing this connection. The workaround solution by the airline was a red eye flight to Toronto then connection to Amsterdam. He won't ultimately arrive until very late Saturday and will miss our youngest son's hockey game- it sucks! Grumpy boy...the worst part is that we spent alot of time and paid extra for good seats for him, as he is 6'7" and doesnt fit in a small seat. Hopefully they can accommodate him.
