Blip all night and work all day
But no scones for tea as Angie had to do all the other work around the house and yard while I played lumberjack.
A very weary, slippery, muddy day to simply detach five trees from their roots and get them over a 5m wide stream. Ought to be easy but i can assure you moving a 25m long tree trunk is not easy alone, without a winch and a lightweight 2WD tractor.
The first four went relatively well. The fifth, the biggest and most difficult because of its 20° slope and a 4m long vertical split in the trunk, did give way to the chainsaw after lots of planning and trying to remember who said "E=mc²" and where I had stored his number on the mobile so as to get a second opinion. Had to surrender on trying to pull it over the stream. As the weather is set to get cold next week I trust the farmer won't be in need of the grass just yet. However in the distance I think I did see a farmer doing some meadow preparation today with a heavy roller. I can't quite believe it as the ground is still very wet. The area I was using today now looks like a ploughed field.
On other matters: I saw an English Professor of Psychotherapy suggesting on Sky News that good feel music risks you getting in to good spirits. Scaremongering again. I just pray not a single penny of taxpayers money went in to this groundbreaking research.
Then the latest from the EU debate - Sunday Express suggesting Brits will have to pay to drive in other EU cities. To the best of my knowledge, London is the only EU state with such a ruling. Then the Sunday Mail suggest Germany will punish Uk if they leave, quoting a senior German MP - Gunther Krichbaum. I can guarantee you 99% of Germans have never heard of him.
Have a great Valentines Day all you lovers in Blipland but don't bother keeping Nogbads beer in the fridge - he won't be popping around to celebrate with you.
