The patron saint of Skopelos Island is St Riginos (St Reg) and he is celebrated on 25th February which is the date of his beheading. Story has it that as a practising Christian the Romans punished him by dropping him off on Skopelos Island, the home of a fierce and terrible dragon. As he disembarked the boat he fell to his knees and cried 'Mercy' (Elios) and the beach where he first set foot on the island is still known as Elios today.
At some point he chased the dragon brandishing a cross or a bible or whatever it takes to strike fear into the heart of a fire-breathing dragon. Terrified, the dragon ran away and fell into the sea at a place now called Drakontoschisma (Dragon's chasm) and was never seen again.
Furious that Reg had slain the dragon and not the other way around the Romans came back and beheaded him some years later.

In extras, the shrine at the top of the chasm and the icon inside the shrine depicting Reg with his cross and the dragon on the same spot.
It appears that the Temperamental Little Camera prefers sunny days to grey skies. Can hardly hold that against it ;-)
