Day 2

The girls were fantastic really for their sleepover. They were asleep about 8.45, which is late but not too horrific. Katie wriggled off her airbed in minutes and ended up curled on a big snuggly sofa. When they got up, Miss S got them all bathed, hair done and rehearsed before arriving at the festival for 11! I travelled with a friend and met them there to help get the two little ballerinas ready (Katie had her song and dance in the afternoon, her friends are in a different ballet section to her this time and were dancing this lunchtime). The girls were beautiful and took first and second place, Katie was thrilled for them.

She had a good lunchtime with all the girls. She practised her song & dance before getting ready then spent some time warming up her voice with Miss Beth before she went backstage. She was beautiful and has improved loads to last time (even though she won last time). The adjudicator thought her and the first place were extremely close to choose between, but she was still pleased to have placed - she coped well with her tinge of disappointment.

After her section, we headed back to the studio to run their duet a few times. They did it fantastically, particularly given the short time span. The girls were really hungry so we made a quick but large tea before we threw them in the bath and into jammies. K was asleep in E's bed by 6.45, the baby followed soon after and E was asleep by 7.30 - fairly normal in our house, unheard of in theirs! The mummies had a lovely time nattering for a few (... lot...) of hours.
