The Midas Touch
The light was fantastic as I drove to Amwell Nature Reserve this afternoon. Unusually for this time of year a farmer was ploughing. A huge flock of gulls was following, the cloud of white shapes catching the light and contrasting with the shiny black earth. I tried unsuccessfully to find a safe place to pull over to take a pic.
As I entered the reserve another flock caught my attention, wood pigeons this time. They were well in the distance but had obviously been spooked. I got pics of the buzzard, gleaming gold, wheeling amongst them against the sky.
The glorious golden hour sunlight burnished everything, including the pinkish alder in my pic.
