Skiptons

I do like a shared joke: like a nickname, it's something that can be part of the glue of a friendship or relationship. Each time it's told, it's like a verbal hug or squeeze of the arm.

Today, I met up with my friend, Neil, who once had a neighbour who - for unknown reasons - would pluralise place names. Ever since Neil told me this, it has become our custom to do the same and it never fails to make me smile.

Hence, when Neil and I met up today, it was to talk a bit of business and have a coffee in Skiptons.
