City Wanderings

Let's do something different today! Said mum. OK! Said I. Always up for adventure.

So we went downtown. Technically, I am a city dog, but we live at the very outskirts of the city, and nearly all of our walkies are out into the nature preserve, in the close proximity of which we are fortunate to spend our days. For a true city dog, it might have been boring, but to me, walking the streets between the library, the cathedral and the three main squares was very exciting! Explosions of scents and smell every other metre. Innumerable dogs to keep an eye on. People, bikers, cars. Mum had a big job.

We grabbed a hot dog in the Garden Square and shared. Mum got all the fried onions. It was a cold day with clear skies, so hot food was a great idea. In the Small Square there was a huge sign featuring a semla. I asked mum if it was semla-day, which is Tuesday, and believe it or not, it was! Mum bought us one on the way home.

On our way to the car, we met a brown poodle named Selma. She was very friendly and we said hello. Her dad said they used to call her Semla because she had a white dot on her chest! Cool!

So, food-wise and otherwise, a different and very good day!
