A Right Royal 'Do'
The sun shone in Hereford today and the Queen visited the city. She spent only one and a quarter hours here, but this blip suggestes that she was genuinely enjoying herself. She must have got up very early to catch her steam train to get here at 10.00am! It was a sunny morning filled with the best that the county has to offer, and local people celebrated with characteristically reserved pride. My photography was limited to some overhead telephoto shots, with a large element of hit and miss involved.
On show, on dry land, was the Wye Trow, Hereford Bull, the magnificent 36ft wooden replica barge, built for the Thames Pageant. My blip was going to be of this with full sail, but I decided to Queenblip instead. More of a hit maybe.
James had a good day and returned home exhausted after 14 hrs. serving locally sourced burgers. Sadly though Her Majesty was not one of his customers.
