Sidewalk art

As I walked past a home where I had previously seen and photographed chalk drawings on the sidewalk there was a family just leaving their home. A girl about 7 or 8 years old was showing her mother the drawings she had just done. I asked her, "Is it okay if I take photographs of your art." She replied, "Uh, sure." in a questioning tone of voice as she seemed a bit puzzled that anyone would think so highly of her art. Who knows? Perhaps someday she will be a famous artist and I will have valuable photographs of her early efforts in her formative years. Another scenario is that I will be seen as desperate to find something blip-worthy every day.
