Greater Flamingo

There are a large number of Greater Flamingo on Hilf beach on Masirah and they are such lovely birds to watch. Always serene and elegant and happy to be in the company of other Flamingo, they spend their days with their heads in the water, sieve feeding, sleeping on one leg and stretching. They should by definition be akward looking with their long legs, necks and upside-down bill, but they are not, they are very beautiful and with the warm afternoon light they are incredibly photogenic and a pleasure to see.
