Teide beckons...

Our first walk on Tenerife took us into the hills and barrancos in the north-east of the island - green, fertile country that today was as muddy in places as Scotland after the weekend rains. From the highest point we could see the snowy come of El Teide, the highest mountain in Spain and part of the super-volcano that gave us the Canary Islands.
