Big sky country...

A day off from the sightseeing trail today, and a chance for me to catch up with myself... I had to pop to the shops though so extended my walk down to the River Great Ouse. The river has been extensively modified to relieve flooding of the drained wetlands and fens through which it flows, and is higher than the land on either side of it.

It's not a very exciting photo, but having walked two miles down to the river, I decided I couldn't face the walk home, all up hill, and only had two minutes to take photos before I had to dash to catch a bus. On the far left hand side of this scene you can just make out the garden of the riverside pub so maybe I'll return for a more leisurely visit one day...
