Today's Owl: The Barn Owl

A wonderful chance encounter with a Barn Owl this afternoon.

We went out to some local moorland looking for Curlew, Lapwing  etc. and found none - just as it seemed like time to give up @darkpeakbirder spotted this Barn Owl land on a wall ahead of us - unfortunately it was soon on the move and we got no close view but we did witness a spectacular flying display.
