Hinamatsuri

Dolls are springing up all over the city as we approach the Japanese Doll festival on March 3rd. 

A full set of ornamental dolls are displayed on a seven tiered platform covered with a red carpet.  The dolls represent the emperor and empress and their important courtiers  (I blipped the emperor and empress last year).  I particularly like this wise looking minister!
