Lickey
Today I went to Lickey to see my friend John. We go back a long way and enjoy our regular get-togethers, over lunch or an evening curry, to catch up on current ailments, family, how life's treating us, and the world and technology in general.
We went to The Great Park for lunch (two mains for a tenner, well we're both poor pensioners!) and a long chat over beer and fruit juice (I was driving).
After lunch we thought some fresh air was called for so we headed over to Waseley Hills Country Park. Very nice though the fields were a little muddy for tramping through and we weren't wearing suitable footware. Apparently the source of the River Rea is close by and there are some great walks from the centre, I'll go back one day with suitable outdoor clothing.
It was then back to his for a cuppa and down the M5 to pick up Emma from work. The good news is her car is ready for collection tomorrow morning, though how long it will last is another matter.
The photo is of John holding up a lamppost that is in danger of falling. Of course I had to leave him there in the car park in case it went over and hurt someone. I must try and remember to ring someone about it soon so he can go home ;)
