Raglan retro

Having completed the Tongariro Alpine Crossing in record time, Margie felt she had earned a tee shirt to commemorate the event. We exited our "cabins in a campsite" early and headed to Tongariro Chateau for a purchase and a coffee. Disaster awaited, as there were no appropriate tee shirts and Diane was persuaded not to have a plain scone - they were too big and no one would share... She still complains about the co-ertion that was applied.
So it was on to Raglan for some gift buying and a relaxed evening meal as the sun set. The girls were keen to camp out so it was tepees in a forest for the night. The beds were on futons and mosquito nets were supplied. Thankfully. Not our most comfortable night in New Zealand but certainly one of the more interesting. The trek through the forest to the tepees had some challenging hills which we discovered were even more interesting in the dark but thankfully the toilet block was close to our tepee.
