Yeah, we always get dolphins...what's the biggie?
The Husband took the day off today to spend with the kids while I worked. As they were planning on going on an adventure into the city, I instructed him to take the camera.
We're about 40km from the central city, which takes a while with negotiating the traffic...but, we're a 30 minute ferry ride in. So he took them on the ferry, which is just the most DIVINE way to travel. They regularly get accompanied by dolphins, and the girls were in luck today...they had a pod come right in. Now being a small town kind of service, the ferry drivers always stop to let people watch. The Husband, being a regular commuter, knows all the drivers, so asked if they could go out the front of the ferry to watch.
Love this shot with the pod lining out across. There were other shots of the dolphins up close to the boat, but I liked this one best. Our local harbour is like a highway for these beauties, but the Husband has also come home telling of Orca too.
They had a fab day, down at the Wynyard Quarter, and eating Fish and Chips at the Fish Market...can't be much fresher than if you'd caught it yourself. They did the Wynyard Explorer on the Tram.
By the time I got home from work, they were looking tired and happy. But, the girls still came with me to the "Bring the kids" Zumba session.
