Salisbury Cathedral : Sunset Glow
Quick walkabout in the absolutely freezing late dusk and blue hour to the Cathedral Close, armed with only the Sigma Art 30mm f1.4 DC.
LOOKS BETTER LARGE!
With the Spire at 404 ft, and with a lens with angle of view just a little wider than a standard 50mm (in FX terms) I had to shoot at quite a distance to get it all in! Had I still had and used the 35mm Nikkor DX f1.8 this lens replaces, then I wouldn't have been able.
No tripod just a quick handheld capture, with the glow of sunset just behind.
Cannot pretend that I went out for a super frosty early sunrise (I got several of these earlier in the winter, though they're not up on Blipfoto) so I don't feel too left out and there is always tomorrow, which looks set to start off promisingly.
After yesterday's marathon muddy hike up hill and up dale and up again (!) I slept well and didn't get up that early, taking it fairly easy. I made an earnest attempt to catch up with lots of you lovely lot through the day - if I haven't, I can only apologise. But big thanks for everything on that one and every single comment, star and Favourite, ever!
Keep warm tonight, folks, it's gonna be another cold one!
